You think society in the future would find something we see as offensive/disgusting/immoral today as acceptable or encouraged to embrace?

One example, gay/lesbian was very frowned upon in the past, but today everyone not on the accepting side is considered weird at the very least

With this precedent in mind, something everyone finds offensive or disgusting will not be such in the near future

Thoughts?
Or people will flay "you need to catch up with the times" banner?

Do your values or standards change overtime, in an almost contradictory way?

I just personally find pretty hilarious what the americans on this board find morally reprehensible and what they find ok. For example, if you've seen the posts on here especially in various news topics, you'll be left utterly aghast at the extreme level of violence and bloodlust they display in their posts when saying someone should be beaten to death or raped to death or murdered or whatever, and I honestly I can't even describe how filled with horror I am at how casually violent they are in said posts.

On the other hand, things that are perfectly normal in the developed world and the rest of the world they are utterly disgusted by, so noticing this kind of cultural dissonance is something that I feel only I and some few other users notice, being from different areas around the world.

Only in bubbled parts of the world where human rights are protected for LGBT people and they're not immediately treated as second class citizens or abominations in society. That's actually not the case in the majority of the planet's nations.

If you were just talking about some place like the US, then you would be correct.
Gay acceptance is currently on the rise there.

It's almost like different people have opinions and post on this board. I detest real life violence and don't wish death on people. You should stop trying to generalize a huge group of people in the future.

It goes without saying that within a majority there are exceptions.
