Emily Lance from Philadelphia, an ANARCHIST has received DEATH THREATS from Violent CONSERVATIVES after a video of her went viral when she was PEEING on the American Flag during the 4th of July!!

She had a friend film herself urinating on the submerged flag in her bathroom toilet using a GoGirl, a device that assists women in urinating while standing up.

She captioned it with "F*** your country. F*** your stupid f****** flag"!!

Thousands of people slammed her for her disrespect on America's celebration as several users, predominately conservatives wearing the Make America Great Again Hat, have sent her death threats as people have suggested someone cut her throat and even offered someone to KILL her!!

One man just put a craigslist ad for a $3000 BOUNTY for her head!!

People slammed her and called her disrespectful, unpatriotic, and offensive for urinating on an American symbol.

Some suggested she was a LIBERAL EXTREMIST and the result of "privileged white kids in the new generation"

She said "Freedom of speech/expression, means that i'm entitled to do and say as i please, EVEN if you don't like it, so long as i am not physically hurting someone and no, your precious feelings don't count, that's your own problem. What don't you people understand?. You're celebrating freedom while damning me for doing the same, you can't have it both ways. FREEDOM OR NONE. Practice what you preach or shut the f*** up. Freedom of speech means that the government cannot prosecute you for what you say as long as you aren't committing a direct crime iirc. Threats aren't protected. What she did, however is protected, considering people are also allowed to burn the flag as well.

I don't disagree with the idea that if she is really that unhappy in america that she should seriously consider moving to another country but her opinion is her own and the the ppl giving her death threats (because that's an acceptably proportionate response, obviously) are also most likely the type of ppl that will trumpet to anyone that will listen that america is the greatest country ever, without ever having actually been anywhere outside the us, let alone their home state and their only real claim to national pride is due to where their parents got frisky.

Freedom of speech...........So sad to see such a precious freedom misused in such a way.

Yes, a flag is just a piece of cloth....but that's not the point. It is so much more than that. A flag is a symbol of a country; of its people, culture and unity of said people. It represents the lives that were lost in the name of freedom and independence. It shows the country's history; the long and bloody journey it went through to gain that freedom; to be what it is today. Their forefathers fought and died for this country......And she chose to humiliate it and disrespect it...

And this girl knows it too. She did this knowing full well what impact it would have on people who wholeheartedly love this country. If it were nothing to her, then why choose this insignificant piece of cloth for her desecration? She could've chosen other equally insignificant objects; lamps, plates, plastic bags. Why this? Because she wanted to make a statement (a very childish and disrespectful statement) with the aim to hurt and offend.

And what's ironic is that she misuses the freedom of speech and expression on the very country that ALLOWS her to exercise such freedom. In a way, it looks like betrayal.

Again, technically illegal. Freedom of speech doesn't protect direct threats of violence.

Amusingly enough, there are a few liberal-progressive nations where it's legal to deface their nation's flag but you can get a prison sentence for defacing another country's flag. It's one more illustration of liberalism run amuck, making me thankful I'm a #LeftLeaningCentrist rather than a libby.

Have a separate subclass for certain people to be considered where they have more restricted rights (can't vote, lower legal standing, no property, a bill for all emergency services, etc.) and make them earn it back.

On some level it might be kinda neat idea to have a citizenship test in high schools which bestow rights like voting, but the potential for abuse (for political gain) would be much too high. Plus that would fundamentally violate the idea of free speech since there would be government consequence for what normally is considered protected. Honestly, at that point you might as well fine or imprison people for burning it.

Oh allright,I hadn't to check it myself.It is something like a 3-5 years prison sentence over here in Germany actually,since an "attack on the flag" equals an attack on the country more or less.

In the US, it's considered a form of protest, and thus protected under "freedom of speech". Conservatives have tried repeatedly to get it banned, but SCOTUS ruled otherwise, and Constitutional amendments banning it have repeatedly failed.(In the US, Constitutional Amendments require 2/3rds majority in both the House and Senate (290 in the House and 67 in the Senate), and then 3/4th of the states (currently 38) must ratify the Amendment, which can take several years to several decades, depending on the time limit for the Amendment).
