People born in the 90s are 90s kids? Oh ok.

In that case, I can safely say I've been to Germany because I had a 45 min layover at the Stuttgart airport.

I've been to Japan. I had a 2-3 hour layover in the Tokyo airport.

It counts.

But "being to a location" is different than "being a 90s kid."

Oh, I know it counts. A kid born in '96 thinks he remembers seeing the Power Rangers Turbo movie in theaters as an infant, so that qualifies.

Don't care if you consider them the same or not. Being a 90s kid or any other decade is not simply being a matter of being born within it - it's the total experience. I'm a product of the 80s and for damn sure ain't an 80s kid.

Yeah we do. And teenagers aren't adults. At least not legally until they're 18. And then that's debatable if you're an adult then. Dunno why people get so upset about what a 90's kid is. If you spent the first 5-6 years of your life in the 90's, granted you only remember much about the 90's in retrospect. I sure don't remember much about the 80's.

Yes, I realize that is true for the "80s/90s/whatevers" kid case. But it's not the same as having set foot somewhere. If someone asks if you've been to Germany, and you say no, you're lying.

I can remember most of everything starting in late 91 to 1992.

I dunno. Im just saying I didn't experience the 80's and i was born in 1977, the same way I did the 90's because I wasn't old enough to appreciate everything that is considered culture. That's just me though.

I'm not even kidding, but for some reason, this topic irks me. I get irrationally passionate about it.

If you were born in the 90s, you were not a 90s kid, you were a 00's kid. Because you really didn't experience the 90s as a kid until the mid to late 90s at best. I say a kid is between 5/6 to 14/15.

The 90s started to lose it's 90sesque around 1998, 1999 and we saw a culture shift to more technology-based fads which is quintessential to the 00's.

The 1990s for kids was incredibly kid-focused thanks to TV networks like Nickelodeon. They helped push the notion that kids were important, could do things on their own, should be valued, and adults were boring.
I feel this way too. But I'm not really passionate about it. But it's interesting to discuss how age can effect what we appreciate about culture.

It's completely absurd that I get worked up about a non-consequential topic, but I do. I can't help myself.
:-) That's all right. I have an irrational hatred of mayo and have a very hard time not shit posting in topics about mayo.

You were still a 90s kid, imo. You were 10 in 1996.

Maybe :P

But I'm barely making the cut, in my opinion. It helped that I had two older brothers - so I had an NES/Genesis growing up. And all the hand-me-down toys...like He-Man's castle Grayskull - even though that's 80's stuff.

I remember watching Eureka's Castle. I loved that show. I remember seeing Ray Comb's Family Feud - which could've been re-runs for all I know. I loved TMNT even though the prime of the show was long over. I remember when the Yo-Yo craze was about. I remember playing SMB3 with a kid down the street who had the Nintendo Power. I remember in fourth grade when Pogs became HUGE.

I'm honestly glad I grew up in perhaps - the last "tainted" era before mainstream internet. I did always have video games, though. At least, we always had the NES since 1990-91.

I remember in Kindergarten the school library only had books. Then the next year, in first grade, computers were added. Did not use internet until middle school. And really, internet access only became an everyday thing once I got to 8th grade.

At home we didn't have internet until LATE High School. My Dad had the internet in the mid 90's (parents divorced), so I got to experience the dial up AOL. Now we have this thing called Wi-Fi.

It's quite crazy how far technology has gotten.

Born in '86 so I'd consider myself a '90s kid considering I don't remember anything those first four years I was alive. I still find myself stuck in the '90s sometimes with the music I listen to, food that I crave, and toys I like to collect.
