Just curious, seems like the game designers wanted to make a 3rd game but what happened to the project?

Maybe because 2 wasn't as popular? I still own SSSC for ps1. Love that game.

Lunar 2 was superior to Lunar 1 in just about every conceivable way except for the story and characters. Hiro and Lucia were probably the worst couple in any video game.

werent both originally released on the sega saturn? also, iirc the studio that released them in NA were really into high-budget products with lots of irrelevant stuff added in (glossy handbooks, collectible items, etc) that pushed up their prices when they did make it to the playstation

I thought Working Designs went out of business. The Lunar series wasn't that popular, but I remember seeing ads for Lunar EB in a Gamepro, and I really liked the look of it. No Sega Saturn, though. I own both on PSX, though.
