Do you think it's appropriate of parents to pull their kids' friends into helping with house and/or yard work whenever they visit?

Would/do you do this with your kids?

If they're visiting and the kid is supposed to be doing chores, they can either leave until later or help their friend so they can get done and do whatever faster. Beyond that, idgaf

I don't think parents should be pulling anyone into hell with or without chores.

Depends really. If it's cleaning up a mess they caused, absolutely. While it would appreciated for them to help, I wouldn't force them with any stipulations or expect them to help.
