Nintendo could've easily fucked this up like Skyward Sword, Star Fox Zero, etc. But they nailed it and it's one of my favorite Zelda games ever and my GOTY so far.

That's what I like about it >_> I guess my only complaint is that there's no epic or structured dungeons like the other games had. The Divine Beasts were aight but systematically going through a tower or temple room by room is more fun than scouring the divine beasts looking for the 5 terminals.

I was never into Zelda at all before Breath of the Wild. I bought Twilight Princess, but got bored of it really quickly. Breath of the Wild is really great. Such a fascinating game.

It is my favourite. But this is also partly because of the hype process: I wasn't around with the first 3D Zelda and didn't care for Zelda until I tried.. OoT in 2015, and HW shortly after. If I played Ocarina of Time at release date I would probably be as amazed as the rest of you were.

I hope they can nail Metroid Prime 4 too.

I don't know if I want it to be an open world game though. That sort of thing suits Zelda, but it's hard to imagine how it would work for a Metroid game. A Metroid game needs a bit more structure I think. I suppose the world could be more seamless and open without going fully open world.

There is that saying about not knowing you want something until you try it... Playing it safe means that things don't advance, but there's less scope for fucking things up. Anyway, we'll see what they do with it.

It's overrated as hell possibly maybe more than any other game. It's 8/10 at best. It had terrible dungeons and an insultingly bad weapons breaking mechanic. A god awful "story". Limited enemy variety and stripped down combat compared to literally even Oot. Shallow sidequests. No reason to do any of them. No progression system.

Like. I just don't get it. It's not even a zelda game anymore.

I have it on my PC but I'm going to need to upgrade my graphics card before I can play it. It runs at like 9 FPS as soon as I step outside that little cave at the beginning.

Are people really honestly still jerking off to OoT and MM? I played both on release and OoT was amazing. But to try to put that on par with BotW is laughable. Hyrule field was nothing but an obstacle for anything you needed to accomplish. It was barren and nothing but an excuse to use Epona, since that's the only place you could ride her. I've tried several times over the years to play it and the child Link missions are awful and annoying. So many good things have happened in the Zelda franchise I can't imagine clutching on to OoT in a desperate attempt to tear down a later Zelda game a person doesn't like.

And I never got the MM love. Played through it once and that was enough. And why it was several years after WW came out before I bought it because I wasn't sure about Zelda games after MM.

Also lol at story. Even as games got deeper could I care less about story. Is it nice when a game has a good story? Sure. But if it's story is awful or non-existent or boring like BotW and it plays fantastic like BotW; then it's a damn good game. Video games aren't movies or books.

I find this hilarious, tbh. All the faults you have made it seem like it's a terrible game yet you still give it a good score. That must mean it did something right.
