Lightning, Kuja, Dark Samus, Grigori, Dizzy, Poison and Morrigan have challenged Caius Ballad, Xehanort and Gabriel to a fight! Location of the fight: Valhalla - The city between life and death, where the great battle between Lightning and Caius takes place, as seen in the Valhalla: Year Unknown segment of Final Fantasy XIII-2. Access to other time periods is forbidden, and no monsters or characters are present. Attackers will begin at the entrance point, with defenders starting at the Temple of Etro. Which side will win?

Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.

Rules for Voting

- Bold your votes (using bold HTML tags).
- You do not need to require justification for your vote, though the admins reserve the right to disqualify votes in the advent of obvious alt voting and other similar scenarios.
- Leaders cannot vote for their own teams (and players from the same pool may not vote as well), but they are free to argue their case.
- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.
- This match will end in 24 hours.
- The following conventions are in use for match topics: www.gamefaqs.com/boards/570224-mercs/75290480/878106427

Morrigan is as seen in Dragon Age: Origins and Inquisition (though she has not drank from the Well of Sorrows), with typical endgame equipment and 3 Lyrium Potions. She has mastered the first three spells of the Lightning, Cold, Shapeshifter, Enhancements, Hexes and Anti-Magic spell trees, and Mind Blast.

Poison is as she appears in Ultra Street Fighter IV and Final Fight Revenge, with access to all her super moves, provided she builds up the meter to use them.

Lightning is as she appears in the endgame of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, with a schemata set-up featuring a balance of her strongest physical, magical and debuffing skills and equipment, and with limited use of Curaga.

Dark Samus is as she appears in her boss fight in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, although she cannot turn invincible, turn incorporeal or heal off of phazon.

Grigori is as he appears in Dragon's Dogma, with access to all his moves except possession. A fighter does not have to be an Arisen to deal the final blow to him.

Dizzy is as she appears in the Guilty Gear series, at the height of her powers, with access to all her moves other than gameplay mechanics, and she will not self destruct upon defeat. She will refuse to attack anyone unless attacked first, and will follow Poison's lead in battle regardless of her personality.

Kuja is as seen in Final Fantasy IX under the effects of Trance, with all of his spells and abilities shown within, though he may not use Ultima. Additionally, he has access to all of his Brave/HP attacks from Dissidia, though the actual Brave/HP mechanics do not apply.

~VS~

Caius Ballad is as he appears in Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, capable of transforming into Chaos Bahamut and Jet Bahamut, with the skills of Garnet and Amber Bahamut plus Break Curse, though he may not summon them or use combined attack XFlares. He does not have the Heart of Chaos, and will not naturally resurrect if he is killed, but is otherwise at the peak of his powers.

Xehanort is as he appears in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance, in his Master Xehanort form, with access to all of the attacks of his other forms except for rewinding or stopping time. He may not transform into a giant space dragon or his armored form, choosing to remain in his old keyblade master form at all times.

Gabriel is as he appears in Star Ocean 2: The Second Evolution, with his limiter deactivated and as seen in Universe Mode. He has access to all of his spells except those that inflict instant death, including other status ailments.

Need to argue two matches and this is the easier one to do so I'll be brief:

-Old Man Xehanort is a fuckin ridiculous mage with enormous power and ridiculous melee on top who's going to pick dudes off like whoa. He has access to all of Xemnas' attacks from KH2 as well as every attack from him in KH3D and his Young Xehanort's attacks from that same game. Total freakin' powerhouse right there.
-Gabriel, also known as Indalecio if you played the OG version of Star Ocean 2, is a four billion years old (you read that right) scientist in a superweapon's body who recreated his dead daughter as an artificial being and turned her into a limiter to his power because he'd end the universe otherwise. When the limiter is off, he's not just the final boss of his game but also it's superboss, and you either stunlock him or he pretty much wipes you the fuck off the map. Sometimes he wipes you if you lock him down anyway because dude ain't fair.
-Caius Ballad beat a version of Lightning that wasn't gameplay restricted the fuck down and is basically Sephiroth++ with a doomdragon transformation and no desire to screw around. PS he has that 'blow up the world' Meteor too and no restraints in using it.

One vid for each.

Xehanort:

Caius (grab a snack for this one, it's pretty long because lmao modern squeenix sure loves its pretty movies):

Gabriel:

Most of the enemy team (Grigori Morrigan Poison) is super outclassed. Of the four that remain, none of them are as absurdly tanky as Caius and Gabriel, they don't have all the buffs and debuffs available to the bosses, and one of them is completely inferior to her counterpart (Lightning vs Caius). He's fought a version of her for an eternity that wasn't limited like this one was, and he'll destroy here. That is all.

Sorry for not being around, had an eventful weekend that was topped off with totalling my car.

Lightning has beaten Caius before. Sure, this version doesn't have as many spells but it's still Lightning.

I think that superior numbers put this over for Kuja's team. Grigori is also at least a tanky guy that can draw aggro if nothing else. Dizzy, Kuja, and Lightning can provide damage output (Dizzy at Poison's command) to deal with the bosses while Morrigan offers some support with anti magic and enhancements.

Something Kan didn't say is that Indalecio has Angel Feather, which buffs all stats. He also has Curse, which removes buffs on the other team, but only on one person at a time. Although with Indy's casting times, he can get a couple of those off in a matter of seconds. He's also got Fairy Heal in case his team needs healing. His Divine Waves can turn the enemy to stone, and they pulse out from him in a circle, growing larger the farther they travel. He's a guy they need to have a check on at all times or he's going to spam powerful AoE spells and kill everyone.

Team Dizzy

Lightning > Caius already, and then there's Kuja, Grigori, Dizzy, and Dark Samus to deal with the other two pretty easy.

I've looked up videos on Xehanort, and I'm just not that impressed. Indalecio and Caius are really good, but Xehanort seems like too much of a weak link here. Team Lightning
