Was thinking of getting zodiac age, and it usually lasts 2 weeks after release but it doesn't seem to be applying the discount.

Get GCU.

This no longer becomes a problem. As a gamer there's no reason not to have it, and is a better deal for games than prime. Frankly you can probably find it worthwhile to have both prime and GCU.

it's still there, but not applying to FFXII for some reason. Maybe they removed the 2 week grace period savings? I just tried it with Monster Hunter World and it applied.

Gamer's Club is 30 bucks for two years. There is no time limit on the 20% discount and you still get 20% off if the game is already on sale. It also applies to online orders.

It's a MUCH better deal than Prime.

Just checked. Unless it's the boxed version (not digital) and sold by Amazon, the 20% discount won't apply.

It's 30 bucks for a two year sub for 20% off all new games. "New" meaning not preowned. It works on all online purchases as well. There's no restrictions except for black friday, and it stacks with sales prices. So if a game that was $60 at launch drops to $40, with GCU you'd pay $32.

Best Buy also has preorder deals with some major releases where if you preorder you get $10 rewards certificate for a future purchase. You can really save. In other words, if you buy 3 games at $60 in two years you've already saved money with GCU.
