Ok, so I figured that I sorta know what I want to do with my life, and that involves accounting for my own money

I have a couple of business ideas but want insight.

1) Barcade - Apparently my area is great for this type of establishment. a Barcade is exactly what it sounds like, an arcade and a bar mixed together. I honestly see no reason how this can fail as long as you have good beer and constant events. I would like to get into the sports bar scene too but idk. I honestly feel like the hardest part would be getting a liquor license

2) Delivery service - Sort of something like grub hub but I feel like starting off will be rough. One thing I noticed is a lot of delivery services don't make money, but they also service the same fuckin restaurants. Maybe people want breakfast at night, brunch or whatever. Will probably look into this option more because I feel like there is a way to get a good piece of the market if I play my cards right

3) Casual Diner/Restaurant - Easy, quick, but probably the most susceptible to failure. As long as the food can attract regulars I think I can do well in Food Service but unsure since the Boston Demographic is scattered.

4)Cleaning Service - I always thought these were sketchy, but you can make a decent a mount of money if you get a decent sized client base. Probably the most inexpensive of the options

5)Helping low income families with tax material - If I will continue using this degree I want it to be useful for somebody besides myself. I really don't want to do corporate tax, but I want to help people realize that taxes aren't really that difficult, just tedious. Yea there are some tricky tax situations but seeing some of the fees accountants charge is ridiculous.

alright those are it which one should I pursue

Don't know how you personally measure success in this case.

2 or 4 sound safer to me. 5 may not be successful profit-wise but it would be beneficial to the local community and taxpayers. I did similar volunteer work with a IRS VITA site and the demand is definitely there.

Delivery service.. People are getting lazier and lazier and don't want to go out and pick up food. My cousins had an uber driver go get McDonald's for them the other day.

All of those are already over saturated.

Maybe not #1, but I don't see more than two of them in the same area being successful. You'll be constantly in competition to provide a better/cheaper service. Whoever can take the most losses (probably not the one just getting off the ground) will win.

Success for me is just enough money to buy chipotle with guac everyday (And still be well off) and also being proud of what I do!

Why not option 1 :( I'll keep 2 and 4 high up tho, I agree with you on that

Exactly, also some people just don't wanna leave the house. I can even establish vendors with people I know who have their own food service

Well to be fair there over saturated because what else would people go/need in major metropolitan areas :/

I think #1 can be extremely profitable since Boston is becoming yuppie ville

Depends on your community and what may be missing.

I love barcades, but I think the costs of entry and upkeep are relatively higher than your other proposals.

that's tough

but if there's one thing I'm sure is lacking, it's a comedy/jazz club. I mean there are bars where those people will play but not specifically for those types

There is a free arcade 2 train stops away from by my alma mater. The drink prices are said to be higher but drinks are usually "expensive" no matter where you go. It has classics such as The Simpsons arcade game, teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, Mortal Kombat, Pink men from Mars, Pac Man, Tron, etc. It gets way crowded on weekends. It even has pinball machines.

I would like to get into the sports bar scene too but idk.
You can have sports arcade games while playing sports games on the tvs. I watched the Black Hawks win the playoffs in a Barcade.

2) Delivery service - Sort of something like grub hub but I feel like starting off will be rough. You can help out people who can't even walk in stores such as the elderly and the physically disabled. You can even partner with Uber/Lyft and Amazon. You can ever partner with toy/videogame/hobby stores to deliver people's hobbies to them. this will help people who may not want to go to a store if the weather is cold or they need to stay in for something.

3) Casual Diner/Restaurant - Easy, quick, but probably the most susceptible to failure. As long as the food can attract regulars I think I can do well in Food Service but unsure since the Boston Demographic is scattered.

Restaurants are too saturated and too competitive. It's very hard to stay in business. Within a period of 3 to 5 years, 6 of my favorite restaurants closed in my city although one closed down because of a fire. My fraternity brother owned a chain of Ruby Tuesday restaurants. But apparently, people did not like the menu and so it closed down in my state.

4)Cleaning Service - I always thought these were sketchy, but you can make a decent a mount of money if you get a decent sized client base. Probably the most inexpensive of the options

Yea there are some tricky tax situations but seeing some of the fees accountants charge is ridiculous.

One of the religious Ministers at my school asked if I wanted to study accounting so i can help low income people on tax forms. Well I got a D on the Accounting 101 Final, so that didn't happen. But if you know about accounting and tax procedures, you can help many a people out. Community service looks good on a resume and in the community.
