Beliiiiize... not in the Breaking Bad sense, I hope. Planning on a snorkeling tour and exploring the islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. These are my first non-holiday days off in over six months, so I'm pretty excited. I'll let you guys know how it is as a vacation destination. =)

My gf is in Guatemala spending time with her family and helping nurse her ailing mom. We decided to meet in Belize (which borders Guatemala) for a 4-night vacation.

Meeting my gf there, but things are hairy. My flight is off the ground now, but I will have, at best, 25 minutes to make the second flight to Belize. I'm really not sure I can make it, and she's currently taking a bus from Guatemala City to Belize City with no internet connection, so I dont think she's seen my "hey babe I might miss the flight" messages.

My first flight is from Vegas to Houston. The connector is from Houston to Bellize. I should have had two hours in Houston, but the Vegas flight was delayed 90 minutes. I need to ask the flight attendants what to do.

Only when you're first arriving at an airport. Connecting flights you don't need to arrive that early, but then it also depends on the airport.

If you're connecting internationally in, say, Heathrow, and you only have 25 minutes, you're fucked. Not sure about Houston though, never been.

So I let a flight attendant know about my time crunch. She says there are about five of us on this plane going to Belize, and she doubts the airline will screw us all over. Also, the connecting flight's gate is right next to me and I won't have to go through security again. Cautiously optimistic....

Nothing and nothing. Southwest has free tv for people who get internet on the flight, but I'd rather just listen to some Maiden. They hand out snacks and beverages, but no meals.

I think it depends on the airport how strict they are. A couple of my friends booked tickets on a cheap ticket website, and they left less than 1.5 hours between connecting flights (with the second flight being an international flight). When they got to the second airport, they weren't allowed to check in because the time was too short. They had to spend hours negotiating before the website rebooked them for the next day.

You're fucked with a 25 minute layover into an international flight. That being said, flights get delayed all the time so it's likely you'll be fine.

I didn't face any scrutiny of my documents in either Vegas or Houston. The checking process was no slower than for a domestic flight, the only difference being I showed agents my passport instead of my drivers license. Surprising, but welcomed.

"Swimming" or "wading?" I doubt you could handle multiple days of actual swimming tbh. That shit kicks your ass hard if you are out of shape.
