It felt like there was absolutely no weight to any of the events. If you can't have me feel the impact of New York City being ravaged by an alien battle, you dun fucked up. There's barely any consequence either, the aliens all magically disappear.

They try to shoehorn the impact in Civil War but I wasn't buying it. The one series just seems like a way to show off impressive CGI and make nerds cream over Marvel irl.

It's not even about the movies being campy and corny. It's just that it's done so poorly. When Iron Man says "I'm bring the party to you" and Black Widow makes her "I don't see how that's a party!" comment, it's all just such a stupid exchange that reinforces that nothing in these movies matter.

I have an ex girlfriend who didn't like Ferris Bueller's Day Off or Forest Gump...

to be fair, the destruction of NYC is an important element of pretty much every marvel movie post Avengers. It's a big deal in Civil War and is the impetus for the main plot point in Spiderman Homecoming, for example

marvel movies are well-made and well-cast loud, dumb blockbusters about cartoon characters created in the 1940s to entertain preteen boys, so you kind of have to accept them for what they are

I have different reasons, but I hate the Avengers honestly. I'd place it in the bottom half of every superhero movie I've seen for sure. And ironically enough, AoU is one of my favorites, which everyone seems to dislike.
