University of Centra Florida Student, Nick Lutz has been SUSPENDED because he graded his ex girlfriend's grovelling apology letter a D- and then tweeted it online which the university deemed was cyber bullying!!

He received the letter from his ex apologizing for her behaviour in the relationship but he took the ultimate revenge by GRADING it and noting her misspelt words in red pen and then shared all of it on twitte to further shame her!

He said he gave her a D- for repetition and bad handwriting that quickly went viral prompting the ex to file a cyber bullying claim.

While prosecutors never pursued the charges, the school however did something and gave him a time out chair despite the girl not being a student there!!

Nick said "Looking back at i tnow, it's probably the craziest thing that will ever happen in my life. My main goal was never to expose her. it was to show the emphasis on the letter"

The University said the tweet violated its code of conduct for disruption and cyber bullying and suspended him for a YEAR and put him on probation.

His attorney argues it is a violation of his first amendment rights to free speech as Jacob Stuat said "That should really, fundamentally, concern people. Not only those who are students, but people who believe in the idea of freedom of expression"

Nick graded the long written letter marking her mistakes and then gave a 61/100 or D- and said "long intro short conclusion, strong hypothesis but nothing to back it up. Details are important. If you want to be believed, back it up with proof. You claim that cheating neve occurred but place blame on yourself, then what for?. Need to stop contradicing your own story and pick a side. While this gesture is appreciated, i would prefer details over statements"

One twitter user was so flattered by his tweet that she OFFERED her services to him...

Thought he got unsuspended after he filed a law suit? I mean she wasn't actually in the same college to begin with, so her complaint was thrown out after they actually investigated instead of just listening to her? Though it was months later I think.

While I do want schools to take cyber bullying more seriously, I can't help but feel that he's simply being made an example of because it went viral. This hardly seems like the worst example of something that would violate the school's code of conduct. I could be mistaken, but it doesn't even seem like he revealed the person's name, which I would think is pretty important for something to be cyber bullying.
