I was genuinely unsure about how I felt going into closing arguments, but despite the potential holes in the evidence, the totality of it presented a convincing case. The prosecution was built largely around the testimony of the two runners, who were quite bad as witnesses in a lot respects. They contradicted their depositions, made inconsistent statements in the years since the murder, had criminal histories, and didn't do well when grilled by the defense. They positively ID'd him. A third guy, the victim's roommate/fellow crackhead, also ID'd the defendant with 60-70% certainty, which by itself means jackshit, but matters in context of the other two witnesses. sabin017 posted...
