It is probably sensible to be wary of curriculum that is geared toward promoting activism, rather than educating with knowledge and skills. That all findings are tainted with a bias to reinforce the ideas of the people in power(you'll constantly see an obsession with power dynamics if you look up the philosophy). If you want a specific example of this, look up standpoint theory.
