Solid movie but wouldve been better if 'Murica came at the end and fucked shit up.

I'll wait until it's out of theaters. Every Nolan film I've seen has been good, but over hyped as fuck.

From what I've heard it's definitely a movie better experienced in a theater.

Sorry but battle of Dunkirk is really not a historical event I want to get up and go see a movie about really. Was kinda confused as to like...why make a movie about Dunkirk and not something else.

LOLFrance.

Dunkirk was only not a bloodbath because Hitler wanted to negotiate peace with Britain and deliberately prevented his generals from having their way. It'll be interesting to see the film from the Allied perspective though.

Solid movie but wouldve been better if 'Murica came at the end and f***ed s*** up.

America hadn't even entered the war, and were probably still funding both sides indirectly at that point.

Even then, it was the German invasion of the USSR that led to a massive reallocation of German troops (around 80%) to the eastern front, making the Allied campaign in the west starting in 1944 a comparatively trivial theater.

Contrary to popular belief, what became known as the "Halt Order" did not originate with Adolf Hitler. Field Marshals Gerd von Rundstedt and Günther von Kluge suggested that the German forces around the Dunkirk pocket should cease their advance on the port and consolidate, to avoid an Allied breakout
