In Halo 1, they were fairly resilient to everything except the pistol/ Shotgun/ explosives, and would randomly die/ resurrect up to 2 times. Also, they were very accurate

In 2, you can destroy the body, especially with the easy mode Sword, but the Flood can one shot you too. Also, spores are insta kill while shieldless

In 3, Flood can be melee'ed/ destroyed AND headshotted, but now have annoying ass flood snipers and Juggernauts

I remember the shotgun being the most effective gun against the flood in all three. Usually in flood levels I liked shotgun and assault rifle/DMR/battle rifle/SMG for my combo. I don't like swords unless it's a last resort.

I also feel like I remember covenant weapons mostly being less effective against flood except for in 3.
