I'm almost tempted to say that if errors aren't announced publically by the player whom they'd favor they shouldn't count just because you should at minimum have had a chance to respond to this. I'm not super keen on players gaming information like that. >_>

Here's my take: if everything was correct, Lopen would have had all of peacetime (ability portion and buydowns) to use that information toward his decision. I think it's only fair to at least see if he wants to change or make a new decision based on new info.
