Am I supposed to be part of a game's community, make one with my friends, or both, not quite sure what the primary use is.

I use it to talk to Kanaya
From what I know of so far is that you can either make your own group for people to join or else join another group.
It also has the ability to speak 1 to 1

I use it primarily for switch voice chat atm. I made my own server with friends for it. I use the phone app with a headset plugged into the phone.

CE has a chat on it too if you want to talk to users outside of here. Been on it rarely though.

Make a group or join a group.

I think most use cases are grouping up with a clan/guild/friends to chat while gaming (like vent or teamspeak) and shitposting/memeing in the text chat otherwise.
