Like, I fully believe Bernie would have beaten Trump head to head. It's just a product of the political climate which was anti-establishment at the time. The GOP let their anti-establishment candidate go on despite a lot of backlash within their party while the DNC did everything to make sure their anti-establishment candidate didn't move on. Because it was "Hilary's turn". That level of arrogance was their own undoing. Not saying it was the right decision but gauging the climate and campaigning is part of the game, and the DNC failed hard in those regards and it cost them the whole election.

And so now we're stuck with this shit. Just want some democrats to acknowledge what their party did wrong and why they lost the election instead of just saying "well we lost and it's because america is just more bigoted than we thought" because that line of thinking and that rhetoric is a big part of the reason why voters gave a big fuck you to the dems.

All anyone can really do is continue to support third parties in the hopes that eventually they'll gain traction. Maybe then the political realm will be more than a 2 team league

Exactly. I'd love to see it happen, but if I'm looking at it realistically, I'd say we've still got a way to go.

It's a shame Johnson had so many gaffes on the campaign trail. I feel like the Libertarian Party's recognition gets stronger every election.

tbh this last election gave me more doubt that optimism. Legit thought Johnson could get enough to be in the campaigns with how divided everything was and for how many thought neither candidate was worth a shit. Didn't turn out to be the case. Like if it didn't happen for this election then when can it realistically happen?
