Peanut butter and pickle sandwich

I just heard of peanut butter and pickle sandwiches today and I am intrigued. Who is familiar with them? Who has tried them?

I think the saltiness and sourness could go together well. Or if you used bread and butter pickles it would be savory sweet and sour

Yeah, I recall quite a few shows in the '90s referring to it. I'm not completely sure, but I think some of the Nicktoons brought it up as well (though it was mostly in passing, much like Michelangelo and his friggin' bizarre pizza toppings). Why doesn't the poll have an option for "Heard of it, not interested"? The options seem to assume that anyone who heard of it must've had it.

That's crazy because I JUST heard about them, and then I made the special at work a peanut butter and fried pickle burger.

Mixed the peanut butter with horseradish to give it more of a kick, and then put that on the bun, then burger bacon onions and fried pickles

It was fucking delicious

It's actually pretty darn good, not gonna lie, I would totally have one again.

The sourness in the pickle brings out the salty and sweet notes in peanut butter. And as you get the vinegar biting in part of your mouth, the peanut butter really stands out

And this is with garlic kosher dill pickles just sliced up. Which I thought would not really work. Yet it does.

bread and butter would be really sweet

Nice. Sounds like a winning burger.

peanut butter is great for a lot of savory applications. Don't need to just have it with jam/jelly or fruit.

I think I may be the first person ever to mix it with horseradish, but it was amazing

Horseradish is one of my favorite ingredients

they're totally different. I think peanut butter pickle is more similar to peanut butter and apple than PB Banana. Peanut butter and apple is really good

Dill pickle chips and smooth peanut butter. It was not bad. The peanut butter took away from the sour.
