Well it's not 5 seconds, it's 5 seconds against helpless opponents, against a dude who excels at moves that are very telegraphed but very high damage. This match isn't very obvious imo.

Yes, but it's against unbelievably tanky helpless opponents. Like if this was against IDK, Revan/Kuja/The President I would probably agree that Diablo wreaks havoc, but these dudes are just too beefy. Under no circumstances do I see Damus and Raiden dying in five seconds, ever.

Basically the thing is this: Every mercenary has a certain amount of beef to them - if you shot a random 3/week with a gun they probably die, if you shoot a random 6/week the same way they probably don't fold. My durability respect for Damus is pretty well known, and Raiden isn't that far behind her. Is there a reason I shouldn't be able to say 'you can't sell me on them being squish' if I don't think they are?

He gets the headsteard and he is boosted,then he has another 25 seconds before reinforcements come. The match is not done in 5 seconds, but in those 5 seconds a ton of shit goes down

I actually respect Kuja to hold up better than Dark Samus and possibly even Raiden here, given Diablo's heavy hitting stuff is magic based. Lightning may in fact be the best equipped to not get wrecked immediately.

Depending on how you parse it, Diablo's RLH is potentially a physical attack (it dealt Physical damage in D2, for example). It's not that intuitive whether it's magic or not.

By all means, but I think Damus and Raiden ginsu Diablo even if you take out Dizzy. Probably not in 25 seconds because he himself is tanky, but they beat him comfortably nonetheless.

RLH isnt his only option he has that giant meteor thing too

but I personally dont know which does more damage. And my point with double apocalypse is it turns 5 seconds into 7 seconds, or 9 seconds if he doubles up, so that is extra damage andstill getting a RLH/Meteor off

Anyway yeah looking at the arena description more carefully, and taking into account the 25% boost

Basically like, the problem is they start at the entrances-- the entrances to Arena Ferox are actually in fairly narrow entrance tunnels. It means that by the way this arena is set up, Diablo can hit the entire enemy team with the same Lightning Hose. So it's not... "he takes 1 second for X 1 second for Y 1 second for Z" it means he gets to basically blowtorch the entire enemy team for almost 4 seconds (it has a 1.5s windup time, but param boost probably gives him faster cast speed too) with an attack that does immense damage if you stay in it, with boosted parameters, on top of smacking em with Apocalypse to start.

The counter to Diablo's stuff is moving. Facetanking it doesn't end well for anyone.

Also it's not physical in Diablo 3 btw it's all Fire/Lightning-- in fact it explicitly hits whichever of the two elements you have weaker resist to. So yeah it's easily magic.

What double apocalypse

Apocalypse can only be used once, Scare. It's an ultimate ability with a long fuckin CD (as is Lightning Breath, but we'll gloss over that one since he can spam it in D3). Moreover, Lightning Breath is a Channeled ability, meaning if Diablo is doing lightning breaths he has to stop doing the move to cast Apocalypse (3 seconds in, because it has about 2 seconds of chargeup time). And Lightning Breath itself has a charge time (about a second). Like...I just don't get this argument. It's a severe amount of durability disrespect on some very very tanky mercs, for real.

I don't think saying a merc jobs to one Lightning Hose for 4 seconds is disrespect at all btw. I mean let's put it in Final Fantasy terms. How many casts of say Ultima from a high level mage are any of these clowns gonna tank? Because I think that's what Lightning Hose's damage output should be on the level of in spell terms if you're just standing in it completely immobile.

Like I said the reason Diablo is kinda dubious in a fight is because his stuff can all be dodged really easily. Against stunned opponents he excels tremendously.

There are enough blunders in this write-up I almost feel like it should be reposted.

I made that rip diablo post based on the initial writeup, but with the parameter boost it's actually not as stompy so I agree with this.
