I called twice.
Once was after I got rear ended. The police came and drafted a report. Paramedics came and checked out the lady who hit me and then they left without checking me out...

Second time, I called because this guy was driving about 20 MPH on the highway swerving between lanes and erratically using his turn signals. They switched me over to highway patrol, I started explaining everything and they hung up on me.

Yeah, just a couple weeks ago, actually.

Was at work at like 4 a.m. and a huge storm came through the area. The rope on our station's flag pole snapped, and our giant flag (it's about 20 feet long) got blown over the power lines and was hanging in the street. It was still attached at the bottom of the flag pole, but I wasn't about to go grab a soaking wet rope and try pulling it off of a power line. >_>

They sent out a fire truck that used their ladder to get up and lift it off without damaging the power lines. Only took a couple minutes, so nothing really major, but it was kinda cool to watch.

Most laws don't prohibit you from ever using your phone while driving. They prohibit you from using your phone IN YOUR HANDS while driving.

Yeah, my mom threw up 3 liters of straight up blood, passed out and stopped breathing. Was pretty terrifying. And the chick on the line kept fucking up the address so I kinda shouted at her a bit. Luckily the fire department is like 2 minutes away.

She's fine now btw. It was an arterial bleed in her stomach due to ulcers while on Coumadin, they did scope surgery in the ER and clamped and cauterized them all.

I called the non-emergency line when some asshole hit my car in front of where I live and left a sticky note on my door instead of actually confronting me to get the shit resolved.

I called 911 back in February after I got sideswiped when my car stalled in the middle of a left turn (I didn't pull out in front of someone. It was a good 20 seconds from when it stalled to when I got hit. Whoever hit me was clearly on their phone and not paying attention, but she had an infant in the car and they took her side way before mine in the police report. Understandably so).

Yeah. I had a younger individual come running into my place of business and told me a man told him he had a gun, and to "get away from here".

The kid was incredibly worried and very frazzled. The best course of action was to call the police and inform them what happened.

I was kinda worried because I know often times kids lie to get attention, or think they hear things when it was something else. However, the officer assured me this was a perfectly reasonable call and that they would look into it.
