The barely animated Hulk and Fantastic Four ones from around that time are sooooooo much worse. The Hulk theme song, for starters, talking about "Doct'uce Banner" (my friend isolated the audio with his equipment and there is a noticeable and awkward skip - that's literally what they say for the sake of its flow). The FF has an episode where they defeat Magneto by pointing a wooden gun at him, he thinks he lost his powers and surrenders, then they tell him how he was tricked and he accepts his defeat and goes to jail.

Edit for spoiler tag, as some boner marked an innocuous spoiler like this in the past. You're welcome, my anonymous enemy.

To be honest, that's exactly the sort of plots you actually see in the comics back in the 60s. A lot of stuff happened that would have people today rolling their eyes pretty much all the time.

Yeah back in the early to mid 2000s teletoon in Canada aired it and the hulk cartoon at late night. The hulk cartoon was pretty funny for the fact that it was just still pictures with audio iirc or if not it was pretty close to it.

My local comic shop plays a lot of this stuff regularly. Part of their advertising scheme is announcing on Facebook what they'll be featuring. They play a lot of cheesy sci-fi like Ice Pirates and stuff, too. It's great.

False. The Spectacular Spider-Man holds that title.

the spider-man cartoon was extremely weird just for the fact that spider-man was still a new concept and a lot of the enemies he faced were either created just for the show or they were from the comics but because the comics had not been running that long

the characters back stories are drastically different than what most people today know them as

Yeah. I watched episodes of it as a kid and also watched the few episodes of it that came with the Spider-Man 90s cartoon episodes they released on DVD years back.

Not if you prefer Peter as an adult. I liked Spectacular but I hate the whole highschool setting. And yes I dislike that it seems we're going to have Peter in highschool in the movies for the foreseeable future.

The story that revealed Norman as Green Goblin came out 2 years before the show and yet they just had him be some random robber. They also didn't even bother using any love interest from the comics except Betty Brant.
