The Starks are the only apparent 100 % good guys yea, but everyone else is pretty complicated and layered. Like they do bad things for good reason and good things for bad/ selfish reason so there's a decent bit of that.

Oh and also, the pettiness of certain characters is through the roof True. I like both, and I agree the books are better, but the book thumper, show nitpickers are annoying as shit. They act like every character in the book is so complex, and nuanced. Everybody in the show is so cardboard thin. The Sand Snakes suck ass in both the books and show. Arianne Martell, Quentyn Martell, Victarion Greyjoy, Dhampir. Are all tedious characters that the story would be better off without, and he would probably be closer to done with the books if they didn't exist. They are a billion un-needed extra subplots in all honesty.
