i have a gtx 980 and its more than decent
for even the highest end games that ive played, so dota/counterstrike will be just fine

If you are going for 1050 Ti might as well get the AMD equivalent card. Graphics cards are overpriced ATM because of mining though

That's what I had heard during my last video card topic... but because I live in nowhere land, our brick and mortars haven't caught up and there's 1050 Ti's for $180

Lets say we're in the future and we're still buying dumb storebought computers with only 4gigs of RAM... if you put in a video card with 128gigs of DDR29 XRam can your computer use it for other things?

Can probably run those two games on max. I have a 950 and can run everything except for some of the latest games at least on low. And the 1000 series is significantly better than the 900 series.

Yes and no. Yes it will use it for some things, but not unless the program specifically made to use it, like things trying to process huge numbers or, of course, video related stuff. I think.

It's acceptable. Basic rule of video cards-look at the best you can afford and then give serious thought to maxing out the credit card and going one higher.
