accusations go further than that but there's literally no evidence of anything so far, no direct accusers have stepped up, Nick hasn't said a word, and it's just a lot of "my friend" claims. even the few people who are supposedly close to him and know certain specifics haven't commented on any of them and there's no way of knowing that they actually know the story, as opposed to having just gotten a few details in a one sided account.

so 99% of people don't know anything on the subject.
the tiny 1% who supposedly do are incredibly vague and have not made it clear that they actually know what they're talking about.
and there's an investigation by Vox looking into it to see what there is, if anything. this one's fair.

yes he's being judged on next to nothing so far and if you're looking for any evidence or proof, gonna have to wait on that.

supposedly this goes beyond his being an e-celeb. like i don't have much issue with e-celebs and their groupies so the particular situation isn't one i really mind or see any wrongdoing to; it's a guy and one of his fans where he's badly flirting with her in conversations they seemed to regularly have where she's receptive. if the full extent is him hitting on chicks in DMs as an e-celeb, that's probably okay, though it does depend on how many, their relationship, and what was asked for. like if he's just hitting on chicks who initiated contact, are flirty with him, and they have a more sexual relationship? fine, no problem. can be kinda scummy if he's playing the field here but that's not that bad.

on the other hand, if he's randomly DM'ing a bunch of girls, they're hesitant, and he's totally doing "send nudes" while being serious, probably a problem. this i believe is where most allegations seem to be going. but some go a step further and accuse him of using his position as a journo as leverage, effectively gate keeping. that'd be a big issue, especially if he's using them providing sexual content as an "in" with them. even if this is unintentional (e.g., "she just happens to be a dev, i wasn't implying anything") that'd still run foul of ethical practices, especially if he covered her material in a positive way. should be rightfully out the door with that (and yes some have a double standard here but that's for another time).

i don't think any claim of him being worse than that has been made. haven't seen anyone saying he outright manipulated them to send him nudes ala Austin Jones or made any requests for nudes from underage girls but i could be wrong. Tony's right when he says there's some telephone going on so who knows what it's blown into on neogaf.

Movie characters and porn stars can just as easily refer to real human women who are conventionally attractive, since the whole thing is about how is wife doesn't fit into that convention. He also references women on the cover of Cosmo, which again, are real human beings. Mannequin is the outlier here, and it's use is just to reinforce the "fakeness" of the conventionally attractive women he's deriding.
