Now that I have you with me for a second, what if I told you that the end goal of shit like this is to terrify low status males out of making any kind of sexual advances.

Like there's a long game at play here where the definition of "sexual harassment" is shifting from actual harassment to "any sort of thing that makes me feel remotely uncomfortable."

If you can buy that people are willingly seeing these cheesy, stupid messages as sexual harassment, maybe you can see how insidious the reasoning behind it is.

I don't agree that that's the goal, more of a side effect. And while from the first minute I've been speaking my displeasure, I don't really know what the solution is?

The solution is, there is no solution, scumbags exist and we live in a world where it's easy for them to hide away, so accepting a story when a large number of people come forward as true and close sources to the accused back them up should be how we handle it.

Just have to remember to A) Not grab your pitchforks, and B) Remember we're living in an especially politically charged climate where character assassination is happening all over.

But that person that shut their account to the public didn't deserve any abuse for sharing her experience, sure say you don't think there's anything wrong with that and then leave it there, but how is attacking anyone gonna help? It's not like she was calling for his head... the problem was more with how others were seemingly expressing sorrow at seeing it and they were annoyed for her.

...There's still a damn good chance he was being an asshole, friends shouldn't just come out of the woodwork like that and shit on you over mere accusations... and if they did that's probably the straw that'll break the PC camels back and you learned your friends weren't worth it at the same time.

But yeah, the silence and instant furor still makes me believe despite the shitty evidence I've seen so far, so idk.

To be honest even if they find that nothing he did was an inherently fireable offense, his work on the site was so heavily personality-based and his brand has now been so severely damaged that he probably will be let go anyway.

You said before that you have a history with Nick and in Monday's episode they talk about how it feels to think you know someone is good and safe but to have those assumptions shattered as a result of what's happened.
