Current Events > Google isn't helping, why are the voices in Until Dawn so muffled?

I don't mean quiet, don't really know how to describe it really, but they don't sound clear. I'd love to actually play this but nothing is helping. Anyone else experienced this?

Yeah this did happen to me. It sounded sorta muffled or not very high quality. I can't remember if I fixed it or used another sound output.

Seems common. I tried their "fix" but everything was already set to what they suggest I switch it too. I have no headphones and no surround sound so what the fuck.

Their official workaround and maxing out the dialogue but that was already set to max as default.

In retrospect maybe I just got used to it.

For everyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, if you've played Kingdom Hearts 2, you know that everything was filtered in the Timeless River world to sound tinny, like old school cartoons. That's what the voices sound like in this.

Not necessarily. It might be that Until Dawn is very specific with having ideal settings for the voices.

What could be done differently? I cleared space, reset the console, and it installed like every other game.

Open the Menu “SETTINGS/SOUND AND SCREEN/AUDIO OUTPUT SETTINGS” and ensure the Audio Format is set to Linear PCM.

I remember messing around with this sorta stuff until it sounded okay.
