So I recently downloaded the ADP app, which allows you to take a pretty good look at everything going on with your paycheck.

You can see your gross/net pay, but also a list of deductions your employer is holding.

On the list, I see them taking out for health, dental, life insurance, city taxes, federal taxes, etc. This is all expected/normal.

At the very bottom, I see "employer deduction: $95"
I have no idea what this is for, but it goes back several months, and maybe even years. YTD they have deducted over $1500, in just that.

I asked a couple guards that have been filling in since my co worker retired, and they are getting less than $5 taken in that section.

What do??

Ask your payroll or Human Resources department what that is and how they came up with $95.

Ask them?

This. There's a department devoted to this. It's called Human Resources (HR).

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Our company is paperless. Until I downloaded this app, I just went with whatever I saw in my bank account.

Yeah, it's very frustrating.

I can take a screen shot of the ADP page if needed

Yeah I'd ask for more details from her. That's like $200 a month assuming you get biweekly.

My work uses that ADP app too, it's really nice.

there's nothing we can do for you. this is something specific to your employer and they will have to clarify this for you.

Yeah, it looks like I gotta try talking to them again. I was mainly looking to see if anyone else had something similar happen.

Depending on where you work your direct supervisor probably isn't the best person to talk to. You should speak with HR or whoever submits your payroll to ADT.

One would think.

I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, had it been a one time thing. Maybe if it was for fingerprints, or an ID, or something.

IF they owe me $1500, hopefully I don't need an attorney to get it

Possible you specified an amount you wanted deducted from your pay for tax purposes?

Honestly that's what I thought it could be at first. Because my job is contacted security. Like we're taking X out of your check, since we are letting you work this contract.

But nope.

A quick google search says that's what your employer pays for your health insurance, which I guess would make sense.

The company I work for does have to pick an insurance plan for each contract

Is that the same amount for the "employer deduction" per your YTD pay stub for December 2016?
