Bush, for all his failings, gave many good speeches around the time of 9/11 that emphasized how important unity was and urged us not to attack American Muslims.

That speech today was abysmal, disheartening, and even someone like Bush would've done 1000x better. Of course he didn't empower white nationalists either so he likely wouldn't have had to make a speech like that in the first place.
