There was a song on Dr. Demento's show way back when David Duke was getting attention as a possible candidate for president. I wish I could find it, because it starts by sounding patriotic but hilariously descends into some bigoted rant. The only bit I can remember was from the chorus, "America for Americans."

Yeah if a topic title didn't spring up I was gonna use your last post for the headline. I have hope still that it's just the extremists that are talking shit 24/7 and most people are remaining quiet and contemplating and just living their lives.

The problem is where social media play its part and everything gets thrown around with the biggest voices being the biggest extremists. I don't think I'd be able to live in a world where I believed everyone just wanted to silence everyone else.

Not really. All I know is thay the helicopter crashed shortly after the car incident. Not sure if it was sent up to investigate rhe car incident and then crashed incidentally which is very indirectly caused by the rally or if somehow a projectile caused it. No real concrete info now.

I can only give personal anecdotes here but I truly believe this, my daughters have multiple races at their school some who are asylum seekers that barely spoke a word of English when joining and rather than being weird about they tried to learn their language as they learned theirs. Not an eyelid was batted. Made me really fucking happy.

Yes. Zero. Just got home from dinner with my South African pastor, his white wife, and the black 2 year old girl they're fostering. I can't imagine hating any of them because of ethnicity. Makes me sick.

Wouldn't be zero but it would be a lot less.

I understand we're trying to be all kumbaya here but come the fuck on. There is a reason why racism is perpetrated most in areas where there is a lot of ethnic diversity. Half of NYC is racist in one way or another, but you'll be hard pressed to find a racially bigoted Idahoan.
