Well, it's not so much about Cactuars burning a whole in my pocket, just trying to determine what's really even worth it at this point since I have all my bases more or less covered.

I have tons of options, but I just doubt anything would take a spot on any team I have at the moment since I have plenty of things to choose from and all I'd be doing is overlapping.


Veritas of Earth? I have WoL.
Ilias? I have Marie... and she's Enhanced.
Soleil? Is she REALLY worth taking a slot from a DPS or Enhanced Elza?

I have Orlandeau, Fryevia, two 2Bs, Ace, Elza, Rikku, Tilith, three Noctis, and plenty of other 6* options that aren't even all that top tier, like Ramza, CoD, Firion, and ExDeath.

So it's mostly just starting to boil down to "who looks awesome," for me lol.

I see she has enhancements, and I could easily level a myriad of different things, but I like her sprite more than most the other back burner stuff I have, and like I said, she has enhancements.

Seven has a lot of "jack of all trades" things going for her but i barely use her. she has a Rem-lite enemy team MP drain which can be useful in arenas and only needs one T4 Cryst to +2. her elemental defenses are the main skill i'd focus on personally if you want any major utility seeing how having 50% on all elemental resistances can be very helpful. she's got a mage support kit with Focus and Elementslash or whatever is a great move with a triple 70% Imperial (Fire/Lightning/Ice) that works as a mini-Ace for two of 'em and is the best imperial for Fryevia still, though it's incredibly expensive to upgrade. her unique material was a 50% paralysis chance, that also was pretty great. her LB is a 100% paralysis with no need to upgrade it.

all of those sound good but in the end there's just better support usually. i mean granted, i've got both Ace and Rem so for me both of those aspects aren't things i have to consider her for. but she's still someone i consider if i'm worried about elemental damage because hey, 50% elemental res with solid stats in today's meta means i can easily make that be 90-100% with one turn and have her be a legit force out there. she has her niche but that's all it is, a niche.

My go to Arena team is currently:
Ashe w/ Ribbon
WoL w/ Razzmatazz, Bowie Knife, Black Belt, and pet/para immunity
Noctis
Amelia
Fryevia.

I could totally replace Fryevia with Seven and add an additional detriment to my team with multi-MP drain.

i don't know how Marie compares to Ilias (haven't seen her enhancements much yet) but it's worth noticing that he's likely going to stay bugged forever. he still is in Japan. meaning he's able to chuck out AoE Elixers or AoE Chocolates like a boss. if an item whore isn't what you want, okay fine.

Soleil is a question of "do you want 100-120% buffs and a mediocre break to the opposite stat of your buffs?"

that can be more beneficial than another DPS, depending on the team.

Orlandeau

Orlandeau is my flex option and replace with units like Marie/Minfillia or something dependent on the situation.

I haven't found a way to incorporate both my 2Bs yet, and I hate that a lot of my mainstays and favorite units are starting to move to the bench permanently lol.

Soleil on the first turn grants 80% buff to 1 stat

On the 2nd turn she provides 120% buff to two stats, and if it doesn't overlap, the 80% buff stays up as well

On the 3rd turn she provides 120% buffs to all 4 stats and can keep it up indefinitely

That got buffed.
It's now 100% for two turns and two stats. There's also a matching 35% break that also lasts two turns.

If used consecutively the next is 120%, also for 2 turns, though the break lasts for 4 turns.

I'll probably stick to dailies and tickets, at least if the Nier banner still stays featured for the daily summon. I would like to ask other people's opinion on this as well. I can't believe I was at all disappointed when I pulled this guy; he's made this raid alone twice as easy as it was when I was using Ashe to cure status effects, and I've gained a very real appreciation for how useful a diverse kit can be when it does nearly everything better than average.

Out of curiosity, I know it's completely pointless, but was I the only one that immediately thought to put the new microphone weapon on Zargabaath? Word of Law is terrible to go for with damage, but it's about the only good magic-based weapon he can equip for the boost from Authority. Shame it doesn't have an element.

Once the Nier Daily 1/2 Pulls are done, I think I am done doing Half Pulls and Rare Ticket Summoning until 2018 so I can get some Pull Power back by stocking up Lapis and Tickets again. I doubt I need anything coming out between now and the New Year.

Zargabaath offers utility, (Archadian Light for 60% buffed stats and immunity towards blind, paralyze, confuse, and disease. Rejuvenate for 100% hp/ 50% mp. Word of Law for on demand 20% mitigation. And Hero Crest for someone to get 100% for 4 turns) so since his stat boosts are so split and he have a hard time hitting 1k you can build him as support.


Soleil on the other hand, once enhanced, is a bit more complicated.

- She is immune towards all major threats in terms of ailments. ( Sleep, paralyze, confuse and petrify.)

- Each main dance if used first gives 100% to the stat it focuses on, along with a 35% debuff in its opposite.(Atk=Def, Mag=Spr)

- You can freely mix and match dances, and gain the120% boost in the opposite stat for x dance used. (Atk=Mag, Def=Spr)

- If fully potted and tweaked slightly she will dance forever due to cheap dances.

- You need to match dances to make the most of it. So Schwert Dance/Cannon Dance+Panzer Dance/Shooting Dance gives 120% in all stats plus debuff in 2 stats.

- This can be good and bad depending on the boss, just like with Roy later on, since if they hate x debuff it can be a pain.

Marie craps all over Illias in terms of useful utility.

The only things he got over her is dodgy mana battery capacity and aoe break immunity.

Heck, HE should be the one sole unit getting an enhancements overhaul due to only his Special Recipe +1 was worth a damn. (AoE Cure Ailment & 1 Turn Ailment Immunity)

I think I'm getting the hang of Marlboro. I can stay alive fine, just can't get the proper amount of AoE damage yet due to lack of Ace. Once I have a second Pod 153 I can try using that to chain Tidus and DV, otherwise it's going to have to be a double Setzer attempt.

I was thinking the same thing. That said, Fryevia isn't the end all be all DPS Chainer, so I'm sure they've made do as well. Plus by the time Fry was released here, they already had other units that are superior, like Onion Knight. They also have Cloud, so I'm sure there isn't nearly that much salt.

So I know tons of people were excited for Timothy when he came out, but I'm kind of struggling to figure out why I'd use him for anything other than his TMR. His breaks are pretty potent and cheap, but they only target a single stat. Meanwhile I've got WoL and 9S that, while more expensive, provide similar breaks that hit two stats at once, which seems a lot more useful to me. Plus 9S has much better survivability, damage mitigation, and his LB provides only slightly weaker breaks than Timothy's. I actually feel kind of silly for upping a 9S to 5* before raising his LB; I may just keep that one up for missions, and raise up another one after I give him plenty of LB pots.

I get that Tim was a 3* base, 5* max, so he's not really going to be as good as a 4*, but everyone seemed to adore him as a breaker when he came out, and I just don't see him doing a great job when his breaks are single-stat and his survivability is crap.

Not with that banner.

All it does is give Ribbons, WoL for the physical attacks, Soleil for buffs and a nudge towards aoe-kill-them-silly.

Will make an attempt on Monday with my Victoria twins on pro as a test, so please don't bring down Marie. D:


I still stand by it becomes more manageable once we get Crowe and Mistair. (You still need AoE anyway.)


Edit: Worst case scenario currently is to hype Light Veritas since she is AoE light hybrid. Or an original AoE unit.
