How much of it have you watched? The show is amazing and the plot and characters and lore is a vast tapestry. There is definitely an acclimation period but toward the end of season 1 on it turns into something special

I don't HATE it I just don't give a fuck about it either.

I watched up till middle last season and stopped. I will catch up at some point. I think it's TV craftsmanship at it's best. It truly is movie quality production for TV in a way that's never been done before.

That said, the world of ASOIAF has never done it for me. I find everyone in it completely unlikeable, and it's so dark violent and imo nihilist to the point it creeps me out.

I like it still but I think it was definitely at its best when it was just adapting an already written story and not doing its own thing

Now it's way more fanservicey and action packed than the tightly written character drama that I originally loved

That's not a fair way to watch it. No episode is stand alone. They all build on each other and require the preceding episode. It isn't like catching a random episode of Friends. Obviously it is going to bore you if you haven't given it a fair chance to earn your investment in the characters and story

war isn't pretty, so I don't see why there wouldn't be an over abundance of darkness, violence and treachery.

I think that's an unfair criticism of a show based on a battle for a throne between many kingdoms.

The fighting scenes dont look like actual fighting scenes, they look scripted and stiff and you can just see its actors acting out a staged fight. I feel like im watching another show. Its not my thing. People keep tryin to get me into it. Its like tellin a lesbian if she has enough sex with you shell eventually start enjoying it yet it never happens.

You can't judge it off of that.

GoT, maybe even more than a show like Breaking Bad, is one where you have to watch as the plot develops and characters come in and out of the story.

I just started watching it a coupla weeks back and am in season 4 and I'm pretty hooked. It's probly not in my all time top 5 shows, but it's darn good. Maybe it just isn't your thing, but you have to actually try watching it for yourself before you can really know that.

I would say watch the battle of the bastards, which you can and still see how awesome it is, but it wouldn't do it justice if you don't see what that event culminates from.

Yeah, because they are all self-contained and generally all the info you need is confined in the episode. You can't watch a show like that, or Breaking Bad, or the Wire, etc like you would an episodic show.

imo

season 1: excellent television
season 2: not as great
season 3: still good but where i started to worry
season 4: things start falling apart
season 5: fucking yikes. holy cow. wow. w o w
season 6: not quite as bad
season 7: seems okay so far, nowhere near the early seasons, but "okay" when compared to the embarrassing clusterfuck that was season 5. i've only watched 3 eps tho

if you've only watched random episodes then yeah you're not gonna have a great time, esp if its the later stuff lol

Pretty dumb defense of a series in my opinion. The pilot alone should be able to sell you on it, that's the whole fucking point of a pilot.

Does anyone not like Breaking Bad? I thought it was ridiculously over-hyped and the last season was absolute garbage.

Anyway, I have only seen the first four seasons, and I quite enjoyed it. I just sort of lost interest. I think that the market just got flooded with it and I felt over-exposed.

I loved the first three seasons but the show fell apart somewhere in the 4th season. I haven't watched any further. Everything I hear about what the show has become, an action spectacle, doesn't sound like I would enjoy it at all.

Another corollary part of that is the budget for the show is killing HBO's other artistic endeavors. HBO is now the Game of Thrones Network.
