There's a board or general for each individual's taste. The rules are very lenient and enforced by a silent and anonymous moderation staff. Only off-topic and illegal content will get you modded. News and content is bleeding-edge and updated fast on 4chan to generate endless of entertaining and informative discussions

The racism is rampant even outside of the obvious cesspools. Someone linked me to an image dump thread in the /g/ and /hm/ boards and users lost their minds every time someone contributed an image of any non-white dude. It was like Grindr with all of the racial slurs uncensored, and the occasional exclamation that black men all had AIDS.

I'd never seen a more disgusting display in my life, from grown ass adults who should have known better on account of experiencing hate like that first hand. I've not visited that site since because I don't want to be the kind of person who can just let that roll off my back, and that stuff is contagious.

Every severely fucked up person I have met in real life has had a standing affiliation with that place. Plus I'm not a fan of the format. I think it is cowardly to hide in anonymity. GameFAQs is the same, but at least I use the same user name every time. I am a known entity and my words can be attached to something. There's no responsibility or consequence to anything on 4chan, therefore it is not particularly interesting.

But I do post on 4chan. I fucking hate the site but the users there do have a lot of insight into stuff that's beside the mainstream. Some users there can be pretty insightful on certain games, music, or other stuff and it's not ALWAYS an alt-right circle jerk, which to be fair, it is most of the time. I don't think a lot of people there realize that it really is pretty much an echo chamber, for as much as people there love to rip on tumblr and SJWs about safe spaces and stuff. It's pretty hypocritical but I honestly don't think your average 4channer is really that smart. I think for every intelligent person on that site, there has to be about 10 more that are stupid trolls. I'm also pretty sure most 4channers are awful people as well.

I mainly visit /co/, /v/, /vg/, and /mu/. Sometimes I venture into /lgbt/, /tv/, and /ck/ just to lurk as well.

Great post. It's hard not to mention /pol/ and /b/ when talking about 4chan because those two boards influence the whole site.

tbh the only boards I like are /b/(for random porn threads) and /mu/(for discovering new artists, mostly)

/sp/ can be funny too during a huge event. Otherwise I'd just rather browse Gfaqs/Reddit/etc.
