Finally beat Apex Omega! 40 seconds with a mage team of Raines, Papalymo, Tyro, Mog and Rosa. Raines' USB was the clincher here since I used memento mori and the doom timer boosted it's damage to 70,000 and finished the last phase quick. Mog also helped a ton with his mind boost from his bsb so stop rarely missed.

So glad to have this monkey off my back and finally finish the 3 Year Anniversary Parade!

Huh so apparently there's an an old ability rebalance and animation update soonish?

That's really cool. Finally my old honed Holy can feel justified and maybe I'll actually hone Meteor now now that it doesn't look like Meateor. Were Ultima's damage numbers boosted enough to be considered decent?

Ultima still sucks, don't waste your crystals on it. I think some abilities already got buffed but the major one everyone's looking forward to is the one where chain spells and twinstrike spellblades do 4 hits.

Though the only real reason I would've had some favor to Ultima was aesthetics so eh doesn't matter too much with Meteor not looking like garbage. Still kinda sad Ultima still sucks though.

At least I made a lot of progress on Magicite today, finally beat all 6 core (Bismark was the hardest IMO) thanks to the new relics I got from the 20th anniversary, I also beat the Mist Dragon pretty easy at 45 with Raines, Naabat, Onion Knight, Mog and Rosa. God Rosa's USB is so good, makes the aoe spam much more manageable.

Abel's lance isn't even that good anymore, Kain gets a much better USB in the future.

I'm also 6 seconds short of sub-30ing Mist Dragon :( I'm using Onion Knight as a entruster to give Raines meter for OSB spam, and with Naabat's imperil I hit 99999 consistently, but they don't come out fast enough, or moreso I probably could sub-30 if it wasn't for that stupid invincibility phase. I wonder if I should pull on that Ursala banner to try and get Tellah's Burst for the quickcast...

I have it too, it used to be really good but it is showing it age, it only does 4 hits on entry and the commands are only single lighting. There's better electric bsbs out right now like Lightning's BSB2 and Raijin. That FF15 dragoon chick also gets a BSB that's an upgrade in every way to it. Once the 4-hit buff for spellblades comes out it's gonna get left in the dust.

Lucky Draw got me Onion Knight OSB (should be a decent finisher) and an obsolete Exdeath SSB. But it's my third SB for Exdeath, so now I can fill up his soul break menu and prevent that FFV chocobo suit with the shared Shellga from inserting itself into the order. ...Or just equip the new relic instead, since it's FFV armor itself, with +dark no less. That would also make sense. But I'm filling up the menu anyway, 'cause I can.

Not exactly great, by USB standards. High Retaliate is only a minor upgrade over regular Retaliate. But if you like Gilgamesh, it's not like it's the worst relic ever. Just nowhere near the top USBs like Cloud, Bartz, Terra, Tidus, etc.

So, a little help on the last day.

Should I take Metamorphis Gloves, or Zack's Riot Blade.

I have CID's Dark OSB so having this
To boost it would be really cool.

I have Zack's and Cloud USB, but neither of their BSBs.

That's not so bad for Cloud who can stack USBs in a row or Omega Drive. But Zack once I use his USB just kinda stands around.

I already have Zidane with his BsB for wind imperial, (and his USB as well), and And CID high wind.

And I have Luneth for Wind imbuing.

For dark I'm much less lucky.

I have the aforementioned Cid OSB, I have both of Seph's Supers and BSB, and I have Gabranth's Super. And of
Course I have TGCs BSB.

For Holy I have TGC's BSB again, and OSB. Also have Agrias USB and Hope BSB. Might be missing some. But honestly that's all the pertinent info. What should I do?

Got down to 38 seconds in my slow double healer Dark Magicite team

I just know if I can skip his first insta kill I can beat this under 30, but Im not confident I have the DPS yet. Going to try to get max +Holy damage from magicites first

I know this is babby mode content for people who've played the game in the last year, but just beat Squall Apocalypse which I had a lot of fun doing. Every fight should ignore defense and res so I can just ignore Sentinel Grimoire existing.

Beat him with Tidus, Yuffie, Jecht, Minwu, Y'shtola. Yuffie's SSB continues to be the best SSB ever as instantcast partywide blink gives a lot of breathing room with Squall. I also have Asylum with Y'sh so yeah between those two I was able to just barrier up the last portion of his health (Y'sh was just Wrathing most of the fight with occasional asylums while Minwu did the heavy lifting on healing with Cure X) while Tidus and Jecht and bursted him down. Tidus cause I have his OSB and he's pretty record sphered up, and Jecht because I got a bunch of his relics while drawing for Tidus and Rikku stuff. Final Transformation does some good damage!

So yeah just having a Hastega is making a huge difference. Hyper Mighty G would be better but this Minwu burst is a passable solution. Between this and the 220 Chaos of the 30th anniversary, at least some of the high level content is vaguely in reach. Still a ways to go before torment dungeons but having an event done feels good.

If you don't have Cloud's BSB2 or a r4/5 Tornado Strike at least it's not worth it since the wind chain won't be that great anyway,the main purpose of Zack's BSB is the quick casts of his commands to rack up combo hits to buff Cloud's BSB2 damage, Zack's commands are really weak otherwise.

Raines' BSB is the cornerstone not of just dark teams but of mage teams in general since he's a DPS character that also provides a rare stackable party wide faithaga that refreshes quickly due to his quickcast command 1 (or you can also wrath it) I use him and Mog/Onion Knight alongside Papalymo/Maria and they can get 6-hits even in places without synergy. Only real problem is that his commands aren't non elemental so omni resistant bosses are a pain (though if you have Garland's chain Raines' DPS will be so high that their resistance won't be an issue.)

If I make a Tornado Strike R4 would it still be worth it, or would you say still take CID's Glove?

Still take the glove.

Also I forgot that Flare is going to be buffed to 5 hits soon so after Raines uses his two faithagas you can just use Flare after that if you bring him to an omni resist boss.

Cool. Thx you're awesome. I was hoping someone would tell me to take the glove. I spend money trying to get it before and never could. So this makes me real happy. (He was one of my first level 99 characters because I was so sure I'd get his glove.... I didn't... :( )

just finished crystal tower. by far the easiest time i've had with a difficulty 220. having Larsa w/ BSB in addition to Y'shtola is so huge, as well as a boss that doesn't resist ice for my almost-totally maxed Squall (just missing his LMR).

was thinking about taking Fujin BSB since everyone recommended it and now i think i probably don't need Vanille's because of Larsa. but now it's been replaced by Seifer. -_-

About how often do we get lucky banners btw.

Like if you were to estimate how often they appear how many per month/year would you expect.

I'm just wondering how much of a mythril tax it'd be to draw on all of them.

Usually just one LD a month, but with an extra 3 around fests. So that's an average of two per month.

I also fully expect a surprise 6* LD on Black Friday, but there's no real evidence that points towards it yet. I just got a feeling.

We always get a Lucky Draw with the dungeon update each month. Also we had a Lucky Draw last black Friday that was guaranteed burst.

I didn't get to do the older FF1 event since it was before I started playing, so more mythril to make up for the bad lucky draw! Glad we're getting more mythril in general since there's a bunch of good banners coming up.

If you don't have Larsa's bsb get it for the astra.

Went with Lion and Cloud of Darkness' bsbs. Lion I always wanted due to being a Vaan proxy so Vaan can go full DPS with his USB and Cloud of Darkness, I already have everything on that selection besides Minwu, Yuna and Seifer. Maybe she can help with the Mist Dragon once I get more unicorn magicite. Damage reflect is nice too. At the very least it's a dark boost weapon Nabaat can equip.

I'm having the opposite issue between the two banners, but both causing it to be difficult to make a choice.

Crystal Tower has too few relics. I have Y'sh and Minwu and I dunno if I care about any of the others that much. Choices for this are coming down to:

Cloud of Darkness - Kinda want a darkness boosting rod and she's one of the better characters on the banner
Yuna - Rare magic buff in case I wanna run a mage team which I can kinda do now with Vivi, Serah, and Seymour as a starting backbone.
Larsa - Just in case I absolutely need astra to beat a boss, but it's not exciting
Vanille - Favorite character of the lot aside from Minwu, but the burst doesn't seem all that strong and I don't see myself using her all that often given I have two good WMs

30th Anniversary has too many relics. This one I'm narrowing it down to

Dark Knight Cecil - I like the guy and I don't draw on FFIV all that much so it's tough to get this otherwise
Faris - I already got Setzer's darts but now that I have Pirate Princess I think fleshing out her break variety a bit seems worth doing so I have two fully viable breakers
Sabin - I have his OSB and it seems like it's a good way to lead into it-- but is this any good? Is Sabin any good?
Yuffie - Yuffie's a staple on my teams but I don't know how strong this really is and her SSB is great anyway-- feel like I'd just be using the SSB more often
Rikku - This burst seems strong but I feel like if I ever got her Ultra I'd never use this as her meter generation isn't so great as to use both easily-- and I think I have a decent chance of just getting this burst by accident.
Tidus/Quina/Paine - Tidus stat stick option. +10 Attack for Tidus, or bonus water damage attack armor.

Which of these look best I dunno?

Picked Larsa as my 2nd Crystal Tower choice.

I don't have a healer soul break for FFXII at all and since it comes with Astra, easy choice there.

Now that I have Cid Raines BSB, the 2nd 30th anniversary choice is a tough pick.
