On August 21, the “moon” will pass between the Earth and the sun, obscuring the light of the latter. The government agency NASA says this will result in “one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights.” The astronomers there claim to have calculated down to the minute exactly when and where this will happen, and for how long. They have reportedly known about this eclipse for years, just by virtue of some sort of complex math. The Atlantic has a lot of amazing articles, but there are idiots at every publication. The writer for that article is James Hamblin, MD; a senior editor. Typically, news websites will have a "blog" where writers/ordinary folks can submit their thoughts, but this seems like a legitimate article, and not a blog post... However, it's all so "out there", that it seems satirical. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Lolwut. Hopefully satire.
There are people/companies looking to cash in on the phenomenon, that much is true, but to say they're in on "faking" it? Haha. Edit: Supposedly it's a parody of Alex Jones style conspiracy theories. It does seem like a pretty safe bet. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, this is satire, specifically aimed at the "both sides"ism seen recently

It's sad that we live in age where it can be hard to distinguish between satire and actual opinions. :(
