Technically speaking the 'point of no return' is still slated for around 2040.... but even then it will take another 500 years past that point for total extinction to be complete. And that's also assuming that within those 500 years we don't invent new technologies that could help.

Plus you're conflating the world ending with either civilization being wiped out or humanity dying. Technically life on the planet could be wiped out and the world would go on just fine.
