It all depends on what company they want to open a franchise for.

Different companies have different requirements and costs. Usually you'll be looking at needing anywhere from $500,000 to $2,000,000 to open up a restaurant. Costs depend on the equipment needed and property costs. It can cost more if you have to build the building as well.

Some companies have regional franchise rights that you have to purchase. This means that within the region, only you have the rights to open up that type of restaurant, others offer single location franchise rights.
