Looks too comedic of an art style.

that's a variant cover but these are the main covers by the artist so far

xTua6Au

jcCrLqL

let it be known that this series will have 3 issue story arc's where each arc is written by a different writer and drawn by a different artist

so if you feel this art style is too childish or cartoony then maybe the next story arc will have artwork more to your liking

although seeing as this is an all ages book catered towards children first and formost

it's unlikely we'll get any gritty dark artwork

It doesn't have to be gritty and dark, but considering it is kid's first horror stories, they should at least be creepy and not straight out comedy.

the first story arc as I'm sure will please most OG Goosebumps fans will take place within the iconic location of "Horrorland"

true but maybe we'll see that in the next story arc

I'm not expecting much because as an all ages comic book you can't get that creepy

No, because I was in college at the time.

I DO remember reading R.L. Stine's Twist-a-Plot books that predated Goosebumps by about 10 years, though. I still own two of those (I used to have three, but one of them apparently disappeared somewhere long, long ago), as well as two of his Wizards, Warriors, & You books, and all of his GI Joe Find Your Fate books.

The original ones got pretty creepy. Goosebumps and fear street made a younger me love the horror genre, then I grew up and everything was all boring gory killers.

yeah but with novels you can get creepy with the descriptions but with kids comic books

you usually don't get creepy artists

compare the books to the show....the books could be creepy and sure i guess the show could be too but the show's low budget made it extremely hokey and goofy over time

same could happen with the comic book's child friendly approach on artists
