I can swim, but not very far or very fast. I'm not very buoyant so it requires a lot of energy and cardio conditioning that I do not have.

This exactly, lol.

Started swimming when I was three. Still far from the best but whatever, I'm a strong swimmer and I'm not worried about drowning or anything.

I was briefly one of the fastest breaststroke swimmers in my age group in South Florida when I was young. I quit swimming though because waking up at 4 in the morning for 5AM practice till 7, then coming back again at 4PM to do an hour of land work, followed by another 2 hours of swimming till 7PM sucked. I spent 6 hours a day in the pool at 13-years-old, and had no life. So I quit because fuck that noise.

Of course, although I can't ever swim again. My knee is held together by a couple pieces of metal that feel like my leg is getting ripped off if I swim, and have the potential to cause permanent damage.

I suppose I could swim if it were absolutely necessary, but I'll never willingly do so.

No.

Last time I tried to learn(22 years ago) at the local pool, flesh-eating bacteria ravaged my skin. It was a month-long nightmare with daily hospital visits and loads of shots. Goddamn unhygienic bastards.

Screw swimming. Never gonna go over bodies of water ever for the rest of my life, unless bridges or planes are involved.

In all fairness, like 99% of that 70% is not water anyone would ever think to or be able to swim in.

Also, humans are born with the ability to swim. If you don't try for the first few years of your life you can lose that ability, but naturally every can.

im a great swimmer. from like 3 years old until 12 or so my parents took me and my brother to the community pool every Friday night for like 3 hours. I also grew up on rivers and creeks and did tons of swimming in pretty heavy currents, and a decent amount of swimming in oceans.

Nah, I took lessons a bunch of times all through childhood, and have had friends try to teach me in the last couple decades since then... just doesn't work. I dunno.

I also can't ride a bike, and tried that fervently every single day for hours every summer when I was kid.

My left leg has always been messed up since birth, so I've wondered if that has something to do with either, but plenty of people with various handicaps and such swim so I dunno.
