I haven't played this game since it came out when I was in college. Didn't really take the story that seriously back then, I was mostly just messing around in the game with college buddies and my roommates at the time and never beat it.

I have been really into western films lately so I guess that is why I suddenly wanted to play this game again. Going through it, it's a great experience, I am loving the story and the dialogue now that I am actually paying attention this time. Only problem seems to be the controls.

Basically, this game seems to suffer from all the control issues that plagues GTA4. Like, everything you do and press just feels merely suggestive, sort of a "mash this button and hope for the best" kind of affair. Shooting is good but beyond that controlling my horse and my character can get really annoying. What gets old after a while is how animation dependent everything is and how long things can take because you have to wait for the animations to finish before you can do anything.

Still, best western game I have ever seen, very lovingly made.

off topic sorta, but I remember I let my brother borrow the game a few years back and the whole time he had it I wanted to play it. once he returned it that desire vanished for some reason. why I don't sell games anymore as soon as I get rid of them despite how disinterested in it I was I suddenly want it again

thought the controls were clunky. talking about the walking/running on foot controls. i remember thinking that the horse controls were on point tho at the time.

as far as horse controls I always felt AC games did it best. the ones I played anyways.
