Like you know how can kind of feel when someone is near or looking at you? What if we have that but as like a whole species and we can sense when too many of us are taking a place over and we start giving birth to more people of a homosexual nature because they can't replicate so the population doesn't get out of hand

Statistically each son born has a greater and greater chance of being gay. (Basically accumulative, not because it's another dice roll.)

This suggests that the mother is playing a roll . . . and the possible benefit is that a gay uncle is more useful to protecting her lineage than more competition among her offspring. As a survival strategy, instead of pumping out more and more shots at the next generation, it's essentially putting more resources into the first kid. What would be more successful, have 2 sons or having 1 son then birthing a scoped hunting rifle? Basically gays are natures hunting rifles.
