Do you think it's disgusting that a school would bring K-2 kids to a Gun Range??

Holdheide Academy in Georgia is causing outrage after they took PRE-KINDERGARTEN aged kids and 2nd graders to a GUN RANGE...and even let them HOLD the guns!!

The school has now lost its permit to care for pre-kindergarten students after pictures of them going to Hi-Caliber Firearms gun range last week in celebration onf "Annie Oakley Day" where they were learning the "Tall Tales In American History"

The awful school shared those photos on Facebook which was their downfall after people blew the whistle on them where they wre taught how to load BULLETS into the gun and aim properly.

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning were notified and began an investigation.

They said "We have received numerous emails and social media messages concerning a recent field trip by Holdheide Academy. This program operates on a licensed child care program and indicates they operate a private school with elementary aged children in Grades K-2nd."

On Monday, the DECAL issued a cease and desist order after the incrimminating photos were made public and now they must stop caring for preschool children from their licensed program in a building meant for older children in their privatee school.

Tammy Dorsten who runs this school DEFENDED that trip and said "Holdheide is a SACS Accredited program and a private school. We move children according to their own developmental, academic and social readiness. We had 2 children who tested into our pre-K program and who were naturally in the pre-K class despite being a month from their 4th birthday. Bright from the Start has asked us to move the pre-K class back into our lower schools and so we abided"

Parents apparently "signed off" on this request for them to take them there as parents PRAISED them for bringing them to a gun range because they said it teaches children how to handle firearms properly and "protect" themselves. They said they learn valuable lessons of hunting and how to kill and eat food...

But the majority of other parents disagreed with this that young children should be taken to gun ranges and called it "disgusting"

Do you think it's disgusting that teachers bring K-2 kids to a GUN RANGE??

Hey, as long as they aren't teaching the kids how to be nice to transgender kids, this is obviously okay.

Disgusting is a strong word. Don't know how to vote. A good idea to bring them? Probably not. Not disgusting though. Educating them is a good idea though

As long as it teaches them to respect guns I don't see the problem with this, could save lifes in the future.

I think all the sexually trash the SJW try to shove down kids throats is far worse.

Generally speaking, I think the best gun safety a five year old can learn is "don't touch guns."

I'd say it's wrong to bring any school kids K-12 to a gun range on a school sponsored trip let alone having them handle one

Gun safety seems like one of those subjects that definitely should have a place in school when you're living in a nation that has the right to own firearms enshrined in its constitution. Schools already teach kids about sex ed and how to drive a car, how to operate a gun just seems like a natural fit.

Not too sure about kids though. That just seems way too young and a deadly accident just waiting to happen. Maybe take kids old enough to appreciate death and what it means to flippantly point a gun at their classmates, and not kindergarteners.

They're 5. What do you think they could possibly learn? All they hear is "bla bla bla" while they're pumped on seeing guns and excited to get to hold one. If they were even 10 i would say that was wrong to take them there.

too young at 5 BUT teaching kids early on about the dangers of guns and how to properly handle them is very important and will likely save lives.

i learned about gun safety when i was 5 and had my first rifle when i was 6. better to teach them about gun safety sooner than later (within reason of course) especially when the younger kids have a higher tendency to do stupid stuff.

Why? If kids from back then could handle firearms than why can't kids today? Gun safety is very important.

Because "people from colonial times did it, so should we" is a terrible way to approach any issue.

Good. We should be teaching them gun safety and to respect guns, not painting them as instruments of evil that should be feared and hoping they never come across one.

If Casey Anthony taught us anything, it is that parents don't always know best or take the safety of their child seriously all the time.
