All of this shit is pretty brutally expensive but they look incredible. You can actually upgrade the internal memory. You don't have to deal with the iTunes bullshit. I think if you WANT to use different software to sort your music properly before you put it onto your device, these devices make it a lot easier.

The sound quality will be amazing because all these devices let you use FLAC.

In the process of deciding which one of these I wanna get for myself for Christmas and just hold on to until my iPod does eventually kick the bucket.

I don't need that at the moment but an alternative music app to iTunes might be nice. It's hard to find something with all the same functions that also has a good reputation.

That I can't help you with... there was something right when I got my iPod, can't remember the name but it was like Honey Bee related? It worked almost the same way but I had problems getting it to connect to my iPod at first so I ditched it and just went with iTunes.

After I actually figured iTunes out it was sort of less total garbage than I had initially thought. Still don't care for it, but it's serviceable.

I still think just being able to sort my music in folders and then dragging the folders onto the music player would be preferable instead of needing some bloaty ass software for it but eh.

Like I guess it's neat seeing how many hundreds of times I've listened to Hunter's Chance from FFIX but aside from things like that I don't understand what I need iTunes for as a music player when I have like four other ones on my PC.

If you're on Windows and have a local collection (don't need a store or anything), foobar2000 is what I used until I left Windows entirely.

i don't understand this at all - everything iTunes does it is probably the worst way to do that thing, and every alternative is basically better.

the only compelling reason is that nothing comes close to handling podcasts as effectively as iTunes does

A Music Player that allows for Spotify would be sweet tbh

Oh I guess I have a phone for that >_>

Wow, this is great, thanks Extha!

I've been slowly working through the 250gb i have. Trying to clean it up is such a daunting task.

I'll look into it. But to expand a bit more, my opinion on iTunes is the same as ExTha's (Could use FLAC support though) and I don't use podcasts or an iOS device.

Again, my phone is much too big and dedicated to a lot of other things usually while I'm trying to play music, and often the sound output is BAD BAD BAD for phones.

A music player that can hold hundreds of gigs worth of music AND connect to spotify with Wifi? That's that shit i DO like.

Also formatting videos for iTunes is a huge pain in the ass.
