I don't feel it's worth even trying to distract myself with WoW. Destiny 2's PvE on PC felt incredibly satisfying, hoping it's got a good carrot on a stick for me.

i feel like games such as destiny 2 make the playstyle in WoW obsolete. you still get the grind for loot that we all love but it's broken up into easily consumed blocks of gameplay where you're always doing something fairly engaging. WoW is the polar opposite where you're just going past nonstop artificial gates. and this is coming from a guy who would consider WoW one of his favorite games ever

And maybe it's just because I've played WoW on and off since I was 12 (12 years ago), the gameplay just isn't there anymore. Destiny 2's shooting felt really, really good. I also enjoyed the Strike so if they have more like that I'd be stoked.

I've played WoW on and off since 2004 when I was 13, so I'm always gonna go back now and then check out what's up, but I agree that games like Destiny are probably the future. Not saying Destiny is perfect, but I got a lot of fun out of the first one and if you presented me with both games RIGHT NOW for the first time, no nostalgia involved, it'd be pretty obvious which one is more engaging.

I've given up on the mythical "WoW killer," but if one were to ever come along, it would be a game that plays in a similar style to Destiny that also perfects the open world and social aspect in the way WoW did.

Yeah, I'm finding Destiny 2 far more engaging... a lot of WoW you can just alt tab and still succeed.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss out on Argus but I heard it was the same kind of vibe as The Broken Shore and tbh that area sucked.

That's 2 WoW subs which is essentially the Destiny season pass. I have plenty of games to keep me occupied, just no time sinks like WoW.

Frankly I'd be happy with something in the vein of Borderlands. FPS+ARPG loot mechanics gel with my brain.

I'm hoping the same. I enjoyed Destiny after all the expansions came out even though I never got to try any of the raids since I don't have many PS4 friends. I know at least 10 real life friends getting Destiny for PC so I don't think I'll ever struggle trying to fill a group.

agreed 100%, with WoW sometimes you feel like you're not even playing a game, just clicking on stuff. the social elements and i think the core design of the game (especially with all the complimentary classes and how to integrate them all in a raid or pvp environment) is awesome, but with WoW i feel like I am doing boring mindless shit for 95% of the time to have fun 5% of the time, and with Destiny I'm doing the reverse. not saying games like that are perfect but at least people are iterating on the MMO model now

^Exactly.

It helps for me that I'd never been a raider in WoW but always wanted to be, and I managed this summer to join a guild and do progression until we downed Heroic Kil'jaeden. It honestly felt like I beat the game after 3 years. I've made peace with WoW, for now, maybe until the next expansion.

I have 11 days left on my wow sub. I have about ~520k gold or so, not much at all, but if I blew it all on tokens, that's $45 toward a BNET balance so I'd only have to pay about $15 for D2.

Decisions, decisions...if I did it, I'd be completely broke in WoW so I'd likely never go back, but on the flip side, the bulk of what I did this expansion was go 7/10M in NH before RL got in the way. I tried going back a month or so ago but no one needs a tank right now it seems. With D2 around the corner, I don't really feel the desire to play at all.
