I didn't Uber drive all week out of disgust smh

yes, but one should also have some perspective. "Harvey needs to stop reking these gas prices".

"reking" is what Harvey is doing, but come on. it making a noticable dent, but its actually wrecking lives. He can be concerned, but its kind of a ridiculous thing to complain about when it comes to this hurricane.

It's equivalent to suggesting that complaining about diarrhea from a meal you ate lacks perspective because there are people across the globe starving. It doesn't minimalize the actual suffering, but bemoaning tragedies does just as much to tackle the problem.

You don't have to be a morally upstanding person all the time, especially in regards to first-person problems.

However, this first-person problem becomes a real problem if this keeps up, since it cuts directly into the budget I put aside for Uber driving every week. As mentioned I didn't do any driving last week in response to it. If I do that again this week I'll be losing out on potential extra money.

i'm not saying that you can't complain about smaller issues, but I'm saying that "Harvey is reking..." anything at the scale he it talking about is kind of silly because there are placing where Harvey really IS wrecking gas prices, and doing much, much worse. I'm not saying his problems are insignificant, but I think that it is pretty hyperbolic in comparison to things Harvey is actually doing.

That said, I hope that the situation gets better for TC.
