My new job lasts from the afternoon til a bit after midnight. I have no prior experience staying up during those hours, outside of recreational reasons. I need this job though.

It's a factory line type job. I make things with machines. Ten to Six would be called a "third shift" job, which is not what I'm doing.

Yeah, you're working second shift.

Second shift sucks, I worked it for three years. Not much room for a social life, it is nice being able to run errands during the day tho

Just stay up for one or two days and go to bed when you want to when you start the job.

Your internal clock will reset and you'll be good to go.

I suggest going to bed as soon as you get home from work. This leaves plenty of time before work for activities. The only thing you can really do after work is drink and that got old for me quick.

That's interesting. At my job second shift works like 12 hours a day.

We only run 5:30AM to 1:00AM. No Third shift. Whereas on first shift, i can show up early at 5:30 and then leave pretty much when I want to. Well, I never go over 12 hours.

Oh that makes sense then. We're a distribution center and second shift works until they finish all the DSD picks I think. They also have to finish UPS picks first, and first shift doesn't seem to be doing much of those lately.

I would LOVE to work those shifts

I can't stand 9-5, it is so fucking boring
