I dunno like 80 or something.

Good at finding scum (better than Chris based on what I've seen, which as said may be skewed!) and good at backing it up with stuff that isn't feeling based, which gives more information for town to use because how town/scum react to actual presented evidence tends to give a lot more info than how they react to PASSION I think, as it tends to be harder to fake a reaction to that. Pretty reliably active too, which is half the battle as is.

Why I don't get a 98 either is because 1. I'm somewhat convincing, convincing enough for good pressure on a guy that made slips, but if scum are bold enough to fight me on scum lynches it's going to be up in the air. I can't really avoid the two train end of day lynch situation even if I know the scum is a slam dunk. 2. I have trouble distinguishing bad play from slips-- which is a big problem on this board in particular.

To speak to the narcissist in me, my independent play might be 98. The whole "somewhat convincing but not quite convincing enough" means that when I support mislynches as an independent it doesn't come off as as suspicious as it would were I better at that, and because I usually support with evidence from posts people tend to believe my suspicions as legitimate because well it's backed up pretty well. And if I'm one with killing power being reasonably good at finding scum means I can just kill suspicious folk that I can't find an easy way to convince the town on. I think to this day I'm the only SK win on b8 that wasn't with a grossly overpowered SK.

I don't get this benefit with scum because I'm fairly bad at faking this and it's hard to ignore scumslips from scumbuddies. Which is why as you'd expect I killed it as Usurper too, but all things considered my scum play is probably like a 50 or something as I'll become pretty obvscum if the game goes late and the town hasn't idled out (which uh, happens more often than not on this board so I've won a decent amount of games as scum, but you know, I don't feel good about it)

Nah. He's good. 66% of the time he'll seem like he's bad because I don't think his scumhunting is much better than an RNG, but finding scum isn't everything.

He is butt because when he lives as town as wrong the town will follow him to their demise. As scum leaving Chris alive and just duping him is a much smarter strategy, especially with the meta that he usually dies early so him being alive late is usually a common sense mislynch.

Yeah I know what you're saying and actually agree, and that's why I'd only put him at kinda good as town.

I'm just saying there's more to being a good town player than generating correct lynches. Chris generates a decent amount of information and a lot of non-garbage activity in the game as town does so in a significantly less railroady manner than, as said before, the manifestation of all the worst in Chris's mafia play, Ulti, so overall he's still a general positive.

Like it'd be an active detriment if he was hitting town at well below the expected 2:1 clip, but a town player who is scumhunting on par with an RNG and is helping along conversation in a useful way is a good town player overall.

VI's might even be above mine but not enough sample size I can recall to be sure on that.

Corrik is a very good town player, as is VI.

Corrik's flaw is he gives up too easily on convincing when town is dumb or stubborn on a lynch he is supporting-- probably the best gut reads I've seen on b8 though since Luis though (who is even worse at the convincing thing-- and also hasn't played in 10 years or something which doesn't help!).

VI's is that he's kinda like me but worse as far as being able (or unable in this case) to drive lynches from what I've seen. I actually consider his playstyle fairly similar to mine, and whether I consider him better or worse largely depends on his accuracy/ability to distinguish bad town from scum, which I can't actually recall offhand (probably due to a lack of driving on his end)

Overall both strong town players though. Not intended as a dis to you to say they're better by any means.

It's impossible to imagine, though at minimum it should make your day 1 better. It's also impossible to know if it made you better on this site since there are potentially tradeoffs in pressure and ability to drive the lynch by doing that. I feel like overall it probably makes you stronger assuming you're breaking even on the scumhunting accuracy vs loss in the other aspects, but might actually make you weaker on b8 because b8 is really hard to spur sometimes.

It is a headache in a game where Chris is scum because too many people want to follow him to do shit about it. He played two? Games recently where I was convinced he had to be scum and he was. And town just let him giggle the town to death. It was sad.


Many people do not like my playstyle because they play very simple styles where lol lying is scum. However I can also generate information from any role as town. Town here just in general lacks the ability to look at higher level thinking. Maybe I am lying... but what does my lying accomplish as Town? What does it accomplish as Scum? That is higher thinking many can't grasp when they play.

It doesn't help that you are abrasive. You aren't wrong, but if you can't convey that to your team members - even if they are simple sam - it is a bad component.

I met someone who reminded me a lot of how I used to play on B8 in another community...he was insufferable and just so full of himself, even though he was very savvy. Made me realize town is a team effort that is hard to pull off because of natural paranoia.

I feel as if I have this strange thing going on where I am more suspected as town than I am as scum here, and I have never cracked that one.

Ergh, the advisement in 2 hours is going to be pretty big. Really need less west more north on this thing. Also it'd be nice if it weakened a bit in slightly colder waters before making landfall. It is expected to be a category four storm so I am hoping that's going to be less 155 and more 130. Also unless it goes really west my city shouldn't take the fullest hit but I am really afraid for my friends and co-workers near Miami, even if they do get out (they should) their property is just going to be wrecked.
