YouTube is trying to make it harder for people to have successful channels so that they have less people to pay. They also want all the content on the site to be "clean, wholesome family friendly" stuff in order to attract better advertisers.

It is a real job. The average Youtuber probably works harder than you. It takes forever to plan out, record and edit videos and it takes even more effort to do that multiple times per week and keep up a consistent level of quality. Plus you have to do a shit ton of networking and struggle to stay relevant and grow your fanbase.

I was watching some mouse trap videos (dont ask me why lol). Youtube stopped giving him money because his videos showed mice actually dying. So to combat that he has a finger puppet mouse named snowflake and he reenacts all of the videos now.

If you're not making daily content that gets lots of views then you make no money.

So as a result, people are cutting down immensely on sparse or heavily edited content.

In other words: Quantity over quality with no standards. It sucks.

Youtube doesn't want gamers or reviewers or people doing shows or skits. It wants vlogs and Make up Tutorials.

Youtube has really lost it's original charm over the last couple years. There was a time when it was unique and interesting, and when people edited their own videos. Also, when they weren't all turning into vapid fake personalities.

The thing is people like PewDiePie aren't the ones that suffer from this. It's the smaller channels that have a fraction of the views his videos get.

I've always believed that Youtubers should treat their channel like a TV series. Release one episode per week, take a week or two to work on the content, rehearse your thoughts(To cut down on the jump cuts mid sentence 900x over.). Then do this for a few months, take a break from Youtube for like two months, come back and continue the process.

Jesse from Prank vs Prank basically pretty much quit Youtube and has said to have been living a way better life now days.

This is a silly argument.

For starters very few youtubers earn "Millions of dollars" and the tiny few that do mainly do so due to the fact they get many millions of views and have huge sponsorship deals + work their asses off.

For 2. That's not unique to youtube. Most minimum wage workers are working much harder than nearly all millionaires. That's not how capitalism works.

The top 300 richest men in America earn more than the next 300,000,000. You think they work just as hard as those people?

The issue Youtubers have is that they had a neat system where they, Youtube and advertisers all make money. Fans get to watch the stuff. And now Youtube is fucking them for no real reason.

You going "Well I don't like them and I earn less than they used to earn so fuck them and their familes!" is just needlessly sad, pathetic and bitter

Daniel Tosh did a thing on it. He covers it enough to show how disturbing it is and you won't have to worrt about it on your search history.

1. Shit parents who can't be bothered to give a fuck about their children place them in front of a phone/tablet that has Youtube on it so the kid will shut up for a while.
2. Channel makes videos involving popular characters and tags other shit on them so they pop up.
3. Autoplay causes the device to cycle through a bunch of them in a row, generating views and making them more popular.

That's what I suspect is happening at least. They have lots of nonsense, gibberish comments which are probably underaged kids pressing random buttons on the keyboard.

Probably just some predatory company who's in it for the ad money because young kids don't know the difference between an ad and a shit video.
