Discrimination actually harms people. Being required to provide your services equally "harms" discriminatory sensibilities, but not people. For someone who bemoans "hurt feelings" as an argument, you sure are clinging hard to it here.

How? By thinking literally all circumstances involving a law are the same and discretion in context doesn't exist? Even if he didn't word it well, it seems like you are blatantly disregarding common sense in an effort to make him look bad and trick other people into agreeing with you.

Nope.

See, slavery and discrimination are both immoral. Denying people the right to own human beings as property is just, just as requiring businesses open to the public to actually serve the customers that walk into their store is just. Beyond that, there's no comparison, and I'll take your attempts to draw the comparison as a tacit admission that you don't have a valid argument.

The L is yours. Own it.

Trevor is desperately trying to ignore the reality that all laws are backed up by violence so that he doesn't have to admit he's a bad person for wanting to force people to bake cakes at gunpoint.

Unless you can name me a law that is not ultimately backed up by a threat of violence?

If the bakery refused to comply for the crime of not baking a cake, men with guns would have went to their house and taken them to prison by force. If they resisted long enough, there's a possibility they would be killed.

So yes, the law compelling them to bake a cake is in fact backed up by the threat that guns would be used on them if they disobeyed the law.

The reason for denying the service was because they did not want to make a specific cake, not because the patrons were gay.

The specific cake was for a gay wedding to which they were opposed. The fact it's a GAY wedding cake makes it clear as day it's because they disapprove of some aspect of gay people.

It's because they didn't want to put 2 male figurines on the cake. It's trivial and it's petty and crying "but my precious religious views and mental frailty ;_;" as cause for refusing service is an embarrassment to all of humanity.
